Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Patric Blomquist got the match started through his kick off. Karl-Erik Kellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patric Blomquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Herman's Malte Säf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Kvick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Herman booed when Älvängen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Joensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Kvick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörgen Larsfelt, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Kjell Tunberg struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Karl-Erik Kellberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Älvängen. Karl-Erik Kellberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kjell Tunberg in the 24th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Malte Säf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Älvängen's Jan Kvick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Malte Säf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jan Kvick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Herman's zone, Patric Blomquist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Erik Kellberg came out of the goal and Patric Blomquist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Patric Blomquist came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Älvängen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patric Blomquist couldn't finish the play. In the 46th match minute, Älvängen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stellan Klack to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Malte Säf made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Malte Säf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Kvick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jörgen Larsfelt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Jan Kvick skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Malte Säf in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Kvick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute, Patric Blomquist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patric Blomquist in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Erik Kellberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Älvängen's Patric Blomquist got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petter Kvick hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Jan Kvick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jörgen Larsfelt went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Herman's Jörgen Larsfelt got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claes Joensson hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Älvängen's Jan Kvick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malte Säf in the 90th minute of play. Jan Kvick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malte Säf in the 94th minute of play. If Kjell Tunberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Herman eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
