Sigvard Haeger was slow to take the kick. During this time Vännäs's players had a chance to rest. Vännäs's Sigvard Haeger was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karl-Michael Borre in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gösta Lund charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gösta Lund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gösta Lund hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 30 played minutes Greger Bjursell rounded Arsenal Football Club's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. A collision led to Vännäs getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Sven-Olof Böcklund hit a great ball. Casper Kinnman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Michael Borre having to interfere. Greger Bjursell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Arsenal Football Club's Karl-Michael Borre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greger Bjursell in the 66th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Arsenal Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gösta Lund to maneuver through the defense. Greger Bjursell struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Karl-Michael Borre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vännäs. Karl-Michael Borre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greger Bjursell, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Casper Kinnman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
