The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Per-Erik Askestät showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Arvidsson in the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Lennart Arvidsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Per-Erik Askestät. Lennart Arvidsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Gustav Månsson took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Per-Erik Askestät. Per-Erik Askestät dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Per-Erik Askestät made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennart Arvidsson in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fredriksberg's zone, Henrik Gunnarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torsten Bure came out of the goal and Henrik Gunnarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennart Arvidsson in the 32nd minute of play forced Nöre LIF's goalkeeper Per-Erik Askestät to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustav Månsson got free with Per-Erik Askestät in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Eskil Karlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lennart Arvidsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Gustav Månsson made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nöre LIF's Per-Erik Askestät tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Nöre LIF's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Arvidsson came free, but Per-Erik Askestät reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per-Erik Askestät made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennart Arvidsson in the 63rd minute of play. Per-Erik Askestät took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Arvidsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennart Arvidsson in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Per-Erik Askestät saved Nöre LIF from getting behind. When Fredriksberg's Lennart Arvidsson in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nöre LIF's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Nöre LIF defense, Gustav Månsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Erik Askestät. The Nöre LIF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Erik Askestät should have stopped the shot. Gustav Månsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Nöre LIF's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Arvidsson came free, but Per-Erik Askestät reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lennart Arvidsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Per-Erik Askestät read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Lennart Arvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Erik Askestät having to interfere. When Melker Vall came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Nöre LIF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melker Vall couldn't finish the play. If Gustav Månsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Per-Erik Askestät came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Fredriksberg's Lennart Arvidsson. But to his dismay, Lennart Arvidsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After having played for 92 minutes, Gustav Månsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fredriksberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustav Månsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Nöre LIF's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Arvidsson came free, but Per-Erik Askestät reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per-Erik Askestät showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Arvidsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Eskil Karlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fredriksberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Eskil Karlsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Per-Erik Askestät breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Fredriksberg were the better team. Fredriksberg's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
