In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind IF Elfsborg's goalkeeper Alf Smitt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonas Fagerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Alf Smitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaj Eklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eskil Busk, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in IF Elfsborg's zone, Jonas Fagerberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alf Smitt came out of the goal and Jonas Fagerberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mats Joensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alf Smitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Smitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Fagerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Jonas Fagerberg notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of IF Elfsborg's Alf Smitt. Alf Smitt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
