Spectators: 7358 (Terracing: 5519, Seating: 1692, VIP seats: 147) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Olof Mossberg started the match with the kick off. Kaj Wennerström might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Staffan Nyman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kaj Wennerström ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the game, one of Snusspottarna IK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After having played for 12 minutes, Börje Åhman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Snusspottarna IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börje Åhman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Olof Mossberg came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Rydell Rangers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olof Mossberg couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Snusspottarna IK's Thor Östman got control of the ball when Pål Hård tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olof Mossberg in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thor Östman saved Snusspottarna IK from getting behind. If Kaj Wennerström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Snusspottarna IK's Thor Östman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Mossberg in the 38th minute of play. The goalkeeper, Thor Östman, was totally fooled by Rydell Rangers's Otto Fredriksson, who 41 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some careless play in the Rydell Rangers defense, Kaj Wennerström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Staffan Nyman. The Rydell Rangers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Staffan Nyman should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kaj Wennerström to make the kick off. Thor Östman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Mossberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thor Östman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pål Hård, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rydell Rangers's Staffan Nyman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaj Wennerström in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Elliot Bammerman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rydell Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Snusspottarna IK the free kick. In the 71st minute, Snusspottarna IK got a penalty, and Erik Lingren placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Kaj Wennerström's late challenge caught a Rydell Rangers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaj Wennerström helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Snusspottarna IK getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Kaj Wennerström hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Snusspottarna IK's zone, Pål Hård stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thor Östman came out of the goal and Pål Hård tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Pål Hård came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Rydell Rangers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pål Hård couldn't finish the play. Otto Fredriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Erik Lingren in the 91st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Staffan Nyman's left hand side. Thor Östman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pål Hård's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute.
