The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tommy Fastesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Linus Fridlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Linus Fridlund scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Fastesson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Evert Juhlin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingemar Wallmark in the 8th minute of play. Tommy Fastesson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Linus Fridlund's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. The supporters of Fristad BK booed when Visseltofta RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Olenberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Linus Fridlund in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Fastesson saved Fristad BK from getting behind. 26 minutes into the game, Richard Ekrot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fristad BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Visseltofta RK the free kick. The supporters of Visseltofta RK booed when Fristad BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Ekrot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kenny Tinglöf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Juhlin having to interfere. Jan-Olof Gudmundsson's late challenge caught a Fristad BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan-Olof Gudmundsson helped the player get up and apologised. Jan-Olof Gudmundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Bo Olenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Visseltofta RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bo Olenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Fastesson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Bo Olenberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Visseltofta RK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 46th minute, Richard Ekrot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kenny Tinglöf was the one to do the kick off. When Jan-Olof Gudmundsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Visseltofta RK's Jan-Olof Gudmundsson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fristad BK's zone, Bo Olenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Fastesson came out of the goal and Bo Olenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Thomas Tinglöf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Fastesson was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After 61 minutes, Michel Löfskog mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fristad BK and the Visseltofta RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Visseltofta RK booed when Fristad BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Löfskog didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee showed Linus Fridlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Visseltofta RK getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Linus Fridlund hit a great ball. If Bo Olenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Christopher Axelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Visseltofta RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Christopher Axelsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Fastesson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Bo Olenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Fastesson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Visseltofta RK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
