After having played for 5 minutes, Knut Blom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Mazza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Knut Blom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th minute, Olof Hagberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Sjögren was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, Michael Emander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malmö FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Mazza the free kick. Per-Olof Trillkott lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 13 minutes into the game, one of Malmö FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hugo Sjögren had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Knut Blom's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 17 played minutes La Mazza got a freekick which was hit by Knut Blom. Christer Alefors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Sjögren having to interfere. Hugo Sjögren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olof Hagberg went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Filiph Vennerlund kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Olof Hagberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Alefors in the 38th minute of play forced Malmö FK's goalkeeper Hugo Sjögren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malmö FK's Filiph Vennerlund got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 73 played minutes Malmö FK got a freekick which was hit by Sakarias Björkkvist. Hugo Sjögren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Hagberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of Malmö FK booed when La Mazza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesper Skark didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Mazza's Olof Hagberg got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Malmö FK's Rune Joensson got a free kick in the 94th minute. La Mazza played a much better game than Malmö FK and deserved their victory. The Malmö FK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
