Arne Söderkvist in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Simon Wickander, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Simon Wickander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petter Tunström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Åstol IK getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Harry Alebäck hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Rudolf Brodin fired a really elegant long shot, but Simon Wickander threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 25th minute, Lars-Erik Hääger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 27 minutes, Arne Söderkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lerums IS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Söderkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Petter Tunström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was a penalty for Åstol IK! Robin Bogren came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Åstol IK's Melker Malmström. But to his dismay, Melker Malmström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Henric Ros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henric Ros to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Åstol IK defense, Arne Söderkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simon Wickander. The Åstol IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Wickander should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the match, Lerums IS's Arne Söderkvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simon Wickander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Åstol IK's Henric Ros dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Henric Ros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åstol IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Henric Ros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robin Bogren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Melker Malmström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åstol IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. When Lerums IS's Petter Tunström in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Arne Söderkvist came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Lerums IS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arne Söderkvist couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lerums IS booed when Åstol IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melker Malmström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simon Wickander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Söderkvist in the 99th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Åstol IK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
