Vidar Brun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaf Drewitz in the 13th minute of play. When Rudolf Granström fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Vänersborg's protests and gave Rudolf Granström a yellow card for diving instead. If Sören Beckström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Kruse charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 25th minute of the match Karl-Johan Hermansson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vidar Brun skillfully saved the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sören Beckström to strike the kick off in the second half. Åke Stensson hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, Hubert Martinsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sören Beckström came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ljusfallshammar IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sören Beckström couldn't finish the play. Henry Hökkvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Sandberg's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Ljusfallshammar IF's Henry Hökkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Sandberg in the 60th minute of play. Gustaf Drewitz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Vidar Brun skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Ljusfallshammar IF booed when IFK Vänersborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Kruse didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, IFK Vänersborg's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaf Drewitz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ljusfallshammar IF's zone, Allan Westerstrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Hökkvist came out of the goal and Allan Westerstrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. IFK Vänersborg's Vidar Brun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save IFK Vänersborg from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute Sören Beckström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vidar Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. IFK Vänersborg had won after a very even match.
