If Rune Alebäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Ted Siöman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig-Arne Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Birka FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sverker Alstedt hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the game, Bernt Fristedt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rune Gunnarsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 41 minutes into the match, Horn's Ted Siöman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stig-Arne Tinglöf narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Birka FC booed when Horn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Britz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernt Fristedt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Rune Gunnarsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half Horn were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ted Siöman was the one to do the kick off. Kåre Svensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Stig-Arne Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Edvin Hedin charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven-Edvin Hedin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Horn getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Sven-Edvin Hedin hit a great ball. After 62 minutes, Rune Alebäck made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Horn's Rune Gunnarsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kåre Svensson got free with Stig-Arne Tinglöf in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernt Fristedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Gunnarsson having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Kåre Svensson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kåre Svensson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Aaron Collin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute Horn were awarded a corner. Valentin Britz went to the cornerflag to take it.
