Claes Widberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Carl Finsberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claes Widberg having to interfere. Mats Vall kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Erik Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. Erik Sandström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Richard Stephansson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 32 minutes of play, LINKÖPINGS FF's Peter Norström made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Richard Stephansson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Erik Sandström was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. LINKÖPINGS FF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Richard Stephansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Norström in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Påläng BK's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Norström came free, but Richard Stephansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Norström was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Peter Norström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Stephansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Lidberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Stephansson. Påläng BK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd minute Gösta Knutsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Stephansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erik Sandström struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Richard Stephansson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LINKÖPINGS FF. 3-1 became the score in the 79th minute when Peter Norström elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 84th minute Gösta Knutsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Stephansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Stephansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Knutsson in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute Håkan Tholsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Stephansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gösta Knutsson charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gösta Knutsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claes Widberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Holmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard Stephansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Norström in the 90th minute of the match. Erik Sandström scored 4-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Stephansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Påläng BK's Richard Stephansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Norström in the 98th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Påläng BK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for LINKÖPINGS FF.
