But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Skoog couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Rörvik RK's zone, Ture Boström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per Kihlman came out of the goal and Ture Boström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Söderlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Skoog could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Per Kihlman made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ture Boström to make the kick off.
