Älvdalen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kälarne RK the free kick. Torsten Löfgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicklas Liljeström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd match minute, Älvdalen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Andersson to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Åke Alefors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicklas Liljeström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Löfgren having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicklas Liljeström made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Jan-Åke Alefors managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Älvdalen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Åke Alefors was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Älvdalen's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Jernberg came free, but Stig-Åke Wall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Älvdalen's zone, Bernt Örtendahl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig-Åke Wall came out of the goal and Bernt Örtendahl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Älvdalen's Stig-Åke Wall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Jernberg in the 77th minute of play. Älvdalen's Jan-Åke Alefors got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Kälarne RK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jan-Åke Alefors fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nicklas Liljeström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Älvdalen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Älvdalen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
