After a defensive mix-up in Mellanström's zone, Robert Björk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Urban Törnblom came out of the goal and Robert Björk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robert Björk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urban Törnblom having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Mellanström's goalkeeper Urban Törnblom had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Björk. With an all-out effort, Snoskarna 69ers's Urban Törnblom threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ingvar Forss, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Mellanström getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. John Fastesson hit a great ball. Ingvar Forss might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Urban Törnblom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ingvar Forss ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Snoskarna 69ers booed when Mellanström was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Fastesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christer Göransson kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Jens-Ove Bruse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mellanström's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Snoskarna 69ers the free kick. A collision led to Mellanström getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jens-Ove Bruse hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Snoskarna 69ers's Robert Björk dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stig-Ove Thedin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, John Fastesson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jörgen Melberg. The goal made the score 1-1. After 67 minutes, Sven-Erik Strömberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Snoskarna 69ers and the Mellanström players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mellanström booed when Snoskarna 69ers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Erik Strömberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Snoskarna 69ers's Jörgen Melberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Snoskarna 69ers from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute of the match, Stig-Ove Thedin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jörgen Melberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Urban Törnblom didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingvar Forss went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Mats Kämpe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. John Fastesson struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jörgen Melberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mellanström. If Stig-Ove Thedin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
