After 2 minutes, Greger Lindström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Säffle and the Brunk IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Olov Andersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leif Wenerdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingemar Hägglund having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Säffle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ove Skark to maneuver through the defense. If Olle Skog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Oskar Jakobsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pär Håkansson having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Olle Skog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Säffle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olle Skog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Olov Andersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32ndth minute of the game Olle Skog who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brunk IF's Ingemar Hägglund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leif Wenerdahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ingemar Hägglund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bertil Wennersten's late challenge caught a Säffle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bertil Wennersten helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Brunk IF's Bertil Wennersten got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute Leif Wenerdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Hägglund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Brunk IF's Sven-Oskar Jakobsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Sven-Oskar Jakobsson made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Vincent Arenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Brunk IF's zone, Olle Skog stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingemar Hägglund came out of the goal and Olle Skog tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sven-Oskar Jakobsson came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Brunk IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Oskar Jakobsson couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Brunk IF's Reine Petersson got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Sven-Oskar Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brunk IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Oskar Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Säffle's Olle Skog got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brunk IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Säffle the free kick. Edward Malmström hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Säffle players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Brunk IF.
