Östra Ljungby's Lars-Erik Biörk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Wallgren in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Thor Holm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelle Häger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bo Bergman charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bo Bergman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Östra Ljungby getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Bo Bergman hit a great ball. If Thomas Wallgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Östra Ljungby's Lars-Erik Biörk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joacim Kjellqvist in the 40th minute of play. Thomas Wallgren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lars-Erik Biörk having to make a save. Thomas Wallgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Lars-Erik Biörk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars-Erik Biörk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joacim Kjellqvist's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Sparreholm's goal looked a bit too open when Thor Holm came free, but Pelle Häger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thor Holm made a kick off. Thomas Wallgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Lars-Erik Biörk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars-Erik Biörk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joacim Kjellqvist in the 55th minute of play. Joacim Kjellqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Lars-Erik Biörk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars-Erik Biörk made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Thomas Wallgren sent off a good shot on target. Östra Ljungby's Gunnar Bålström got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Sparreholm defense, Gunnar Bålström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pelle Häger. The Sparreholm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pelle Häger should have stopped the shot. In the 77th minute, Thomas Wallgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lars-Erik Biörk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joacim Kjellqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Thor Holm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Thomas Wallgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sparreholm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Wallgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gunnar Bålström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
