After a rather tough play, IFKGBG's Rune Eliasson got a free kick in the 18th minute. Gunnarsbyn's Leif Söderberg came free and shot a quick shot against goal 21 minutes in the game, fortunately Ludvig Sjöström had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Leif Söderberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ludvig Sjöström having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Per Stigsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gunnarsbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Per Stigsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ludvig Sjöström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 played minutes Gunnarsbyn got a freekick which was hit by Mats Billing. 28 minutes into the match, IFKGBG's Ralf Blomkvist broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Per Stigsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ludvig Sjöström. Per Stigsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0.

Gunnarsbyn's Sören Termander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Karlberg in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of IFKGBG booed when Gunnarsbyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urban Ahlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leif Söderberg in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ludvig Sjöström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per Stigsson in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludvig Sjöström saved IFKGBG from getting behind. Ludvig Sjöström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leif Söderberg's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. A collision led to IFKGBG getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Rasmus Lindholm hit a great ball. Per Stigsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute Gunnarsbyn were awarded a corner. Kjell-Arne Deckberg went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Kjell-Arne Deckberg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but IFKGBG's Ludvig Sjöström did a great save. In the 84th minute Leif Söderberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludvig Sjöström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per Stigsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alf Karlberg, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 92 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Sören Termander was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sven Bäck during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sven Bäck kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. IFKGBG's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
