Karl-Ove Simonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Göran Tönnberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 23rdth minute of the game Göran Tönnberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Altersbruk BK's Karl-Ove Simonsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Göran Tönnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Göran Tönnberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Göran Tönnberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karl-Ove Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Lindqvist in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Brian Lindqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Simonsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Kinnman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Broberg having to interfere. Bo Broberg made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Bengt Kinnman sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Valdemar Möller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Göran Tönnberg scored 0-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Ove Simonsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Brian Lindqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Göran Tönnberg made the kick off in the second half. Sven-Erik Fågel's late challenge caught a Altersbruk BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Erik Fågel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Sven-Erik Fågel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bengt Kinnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Tönnberg in the 66th minute of play forced Altersbruk BK's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Simonsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Erik Fågel kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the game, Göran Tönnberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karl-Ove Simonsson. Göran Tönnberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. 73 minutes into the match, Altersbruk BK's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Simonsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brian Lindqvist. Göran Tönnberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt Kinnman kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute of the match, Brian Lindqvist got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karl-Ove Simonsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Brian Lindqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Karl-Ove Simonsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Ove Simonsson made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Brian Lindqvist sent off a good shot on target. Arne Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Karl-Ove Simonsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Ove Simonsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Göran Tönnberg's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The supporters of Sandby IF booed when Altersbruk BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Vollander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Brian Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandby IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Brian Lindqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Ove Simonsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandby IF's Brian Lindqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sandby IF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
