After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Sven-Arne Nordstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Arne Nordstedt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leif Simonsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sven-Arne Nordstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arvin Vidman made a kick off. If Evert Kjellqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in IF Verdandi's zone, Evert Kjellqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Simonsson came out of the goal and Evert Kjellqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Harry Svanström, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Sven-Arne Nordstedt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Gästrike-hammarby booed when IF Verdandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Smitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gästrike-hammarby's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
