Joakim Lägdin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Arenius having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Pontus Bergsten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karl Arenius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pontus Bergsten's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Karl Arenius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pontus Bergsten in the 23rd minute of the match. Karl-Magnus Sjöberg's late challenge caught a Newton Heath's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Magnus Sjöberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Hällestad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Magnus Sjöberg to maneuver through the defense. Karl Arenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tor Sjöö, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Joakim Lägdin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Karl Arenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Hällestad were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Inge Lund made the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 52nd minute by Joakim Lägdin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sven Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Brolin in the 59th minute of the match. Pontus Bergsten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Hällestad fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Hällestad's Pontus Bergsten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Joakim Lägdin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Pontus Bergsten made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Newton Heath's Karl Arenius tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Hällestad's Reine Asklund got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th match minute, Hällestad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Magnus Sjöberg to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Newton Heath's Staffan Öfverman tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Newton Heath got a freekick which was hit by Inge Lund. A collision led to Hällestad getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Karl-Magnus Sjöberg hit a great ball. Pontus Bergsten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl Arenius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Karl Arenius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pontus Bergsten's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Karl Arenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pontus Bergsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hällestad played a much better game than Newton Heath and deserved their victory. The Newton Heath players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
