Christian Blomqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Brodin in the 26th minute. Alex Brodin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Christian Blomqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birger Westerberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Melker Linberg's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 58th match minute, Ljungby IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredrik Hansson to maneuver through the defense. Christian Blomqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarl Ahlén in the 61st minute of play. Göteborg's Alex Brodin got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexander Hermansson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match, Jan Rosin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Birger Westerberg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Melker Linberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Birger Westerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Jan Rosin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Birger Westerberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
