The audience thought a goal was coming when Tord Hasselqvist got free with Robin Kullander in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Grimstorp BK fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Grimstorp BK's Åke Johnsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 8th minute, Nils-Erik Hjelm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Grimstorp BK getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Tomas Bäckström hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Husby-Rekarne IFK's Tord Hasselqvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robin Kullander. That made the score 1-1 after 15 minutes of play. Grimstorp BK's Gunnar Söderberg got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Åke Johnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Husby-Rekarne IFK defense, Gunnar Söderberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sverker Nordmark. The Husby-Rekarne IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sverker Nordmark should have stopped the shot. Grimstorp BK's Robin Kullander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Erik Hjelm in the 27th minute of play. Åke Johnsson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Sverker Nordmark didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grimstorp BK. 33 minutes into the game, Tord Hasselqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Robin Kullander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Husby-Rekarne IFK's zone, Gunnar Söderberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sverker Nordmark came out of the goal and Gunnar Söderberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Husby-Rekarne IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Söderberg came free, but Sverker Nordmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunnar Söderberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Sverker Nordmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nils-Erik Hjelm stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rdth minute of the game Gunnar Söderberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Husby-Rekarne IFK's Sverker Nordmark was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sverker Nordmark stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gunnar Söderberg's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Husby-Rekarne IFK's zone, Gunnar Söderberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sverker Nordmark came out of the goal and Gunnar Söderberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Husby-Rekarne IFK's goalkeeper Sverker Nordmark, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Grimstorp BK's Tomas Bäckström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Sverker Nordmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Söderberg in the 85th minute of play. Tord Hasselqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Kullander having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Tord Hasselqvist notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Grimstorp BK's Robin Kullander. Robin Kullander was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 95 minutes, Måns Tunström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Husby-Rekarne IFK and the Grimstorp BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Måns Tunström kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
