Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alexander Billberg got the match started through his kick off. Edvard Gadd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pilgrimstad's Vilhelm Linquist suffered a sore thigh after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 17 minutes, Alexander Billberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmö and the Pilgrimstad players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexander Billberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ingvar Nyberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Arvid Sjödin fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pilgrimstad's protests and gave Arvid Sjödin a yellow card for diving instead. Arvid Sjödin hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edvard Gadd got free with Joseph Olsmann in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stig Gunnarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Malmö's Joseph Olsmann got control of the ball when Edvard Gadd tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, Karl-Axel Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Olsmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig Gunnarsson in the 41st minute of play. It was beautiful to see Malmö's Ulrik Nilsson in action when he in the 43rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Arvid Sjödin hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stig Gunnarsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute John Beneth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Olsmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alexander Billberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvard Gadd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Joseph Olsmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stig Gunnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edvard Gadd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joseph Olsmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. A collision led to Pilgrimstad getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Edvard Gadd hit a great ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Ulrik Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulrik Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alexander Billberg came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Malmö fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Billberg couldn't finish the play. Ulrik Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingvar Nyberg having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pilgrimstad fans cheered their team off the field, for while Malmö had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
