After 8 minutes, Valdemar Forsman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pilgrimstad and the Hofors players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hofors booed when Pilgrimstad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Forsman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Isaac Ingemarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Edvard Gadd managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pilgrimstad's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvard Gadd was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Björn Forssberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Isaac Ingemarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Hofors got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Arne Åström. The audience was convinced that Edvard Gadd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Björn Forssberg was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 29 played minutes, Pilgrimstad's Sune Sandström shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Björn Forssberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pilgrimstad reached it. 31 minutes into the match, Arvid Sjödin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Björn Forssberg. Hofors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arvid Sjödin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Isaac Ingemarsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ingvar Nyberg could save by the left post. Arvid Sjödin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Björn Forssberg having to interfere. Hofors's Björn Forssberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvid Sjödin in the 40th minute of play. Edvard Gadd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sigvard Bergman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ingvar Nyberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arvid Sjödin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arvid Sjödin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Björn Forssberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Arvid Sjödin slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 92nd minute. The Hofors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pilgrimstad's performance. The match ended with a win for Pilgrimstad.
