Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Olov Glanselius started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ola Wall in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Magnus Kilstedt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th minute Ola Wall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Kilstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magnus Kilstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Dahlberg in the 9th minute of play. Magnus Kilstedt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Dahlberg went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 20 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ola Wall came free, but Magnus Kilstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Glanselius in the 22nd minute of play forced Sunnemo IK's goalkeeper Charlie Thedin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Sunnemo IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Hård to maneuver through the defense. Henrik Larsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Olov Glanselius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Olov Glanselius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Thedin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henrik Larsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Charlie Thedin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrik Larsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olov Glanselius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Valdemar Hård hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Charlie Thedin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olov Glanselius's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Charlie Thedin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Larsson in the 55th minute of the match. If Ola Wall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sunnemo IK's Charlie Thedin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olov Glanselius in the 70th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Sunnemo IK's Ola Wall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Magnus Kilstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Sunnemo IK's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Larsson came free, but Charlie Thedin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Thedin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Glanselius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sunnemo IK's zone, Henrik Larsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charlie Thedin came out of the goal and Henrik Larsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henrik Larsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Thedin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henrik Larsson ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Sunnemo IK's Thor Nyström got a free kick in the 90th minute. Charlie Thedin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Larsson in the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sunnemo IK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anders Vennerlund was slow to take the kick. During this time Arsenal FC's players had a chance to rest. Anders Vennerlund made a great header on Arsenal FC's corner, it was just that Sunnemo IK's Charlie Thedin managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leo Dahlberg got free with Magnus Kilstedt in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Arsenal FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
