In the 12th minute, Ronny Henriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ronny Henriksson got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Kärna IK. Ronny Henriksson took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Wallander. Daniel Wallander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 22 played minutes Älvkarleby FK got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Söderström. 25 minutes into the match, Kärna IK's Tommy Brovall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Wallander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. During the 27th minute of the match Henrik Åkerberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Henrik Åkerberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Kärna IK's Lars-Erik Fagerberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Kärna IK from getting a goal against them. When Sixten Pååk fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Älvkarleby FK's protests and gave Sixten Pååk a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Älvkarleby FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixten Pååk to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Kärna IK's Lennart Strandberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Rudkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Kärna IK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronny Henriksson was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Wallander made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Tommy Brovall sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Brovall got free with Daniel Wallander in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Rudkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Lars-Erik Fagerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Andréas Östensson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lennart Strandberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Älvkarleby FK's Tommy Söderström got a free kick in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Ronny Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kärna IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronny Henriksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Wallander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oskar Sellberg hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Ronny Henrikssons short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Daniel Wallander to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ronny Henriksson struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Daniel Wallander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kärna IK. In the 94thth minute of the game Ronny Henriksson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Älvkarleby FK's Daniel Wallander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kärna IK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
