Peter Stenqvist made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Torbjörn Wik sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute Christian Spets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Erik Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Catalunya's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Gadd came free, but Jens-Erik Jansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Erling Gadd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grönköpings FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jens-Erik Jansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Gadd, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Grönköpings FF were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catalunya reached it.
