After a defensive mix-up in Robbans FC's zone, Jan-Åke Almstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvin Lundström came out of the goal and Jan-Åke Almstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agne Blomkvist's late challenge caught a Robbans FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agne Blomkvist helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Virserum getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Agne Blomkvist hit a great ball. Virserum's Jan-Åke Almstedt got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robbans FC's Stefan Alströmer got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rudolf Odman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Albohm in the 24th minute of the match. Jan-Åke Almstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virserum's Agne Blomkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Virserum's Richard Fagerberg got a free kick in the 38th minute. Edvin Lundström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Åke Almstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Malcolm Albohm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute of the match Dan Berglund shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rudolf Odman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Alströmer in the 53rd minute of play forced Virserum's goalkeeper Rudolf Odman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agne Blomkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Edvin Lundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan-Åke Almstedt struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Edvin Lundström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virserum. Robbans FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Malcolm Albohm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Robbans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agne Blomkvist came free, but Edvin Lundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudolf Odman came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Robbans FC's Stefan Alströmer. But to his dismay, Stefan Alströmer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.
