The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Söder Bröder's goalkeeper Jimmy Ferm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörgen Pettersson. In the 6th minute, Jörgen Pettersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Jörgen Pettersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sollentuna's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörgen Pettersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimmy Ferm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Sollentuna's Oskar Berglund got a free kick in the 13th minute. Göran Lundqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoffer Hermansson having to interfere. The supporters of Sollentuna booed when Söder Bröder was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Harlén didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Otto Mager took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jimmy Ferm to make any attempt to save it. When Jörgen Pettersson came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Sollentuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörgen Pettersson couldn't finish the play. Christoffer Hermansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Ekgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Jörgen Pettersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jimmy Ferm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Göran Lundqvist struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Christoffer Hermansson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Söder Bröder. Yngve Vallander charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yngve Vallander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Göran Lundqvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Torgny Helander during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Söder Bröder! Christoffer Hermansson made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Göran Lundqvist sent off a good shot on target. Jimmy Ferm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörgen Pettersson in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Sollentuna getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Kaj Ahlqvist hit a great ball. If Otto Mager had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sollentuna.
