After a defensive mix-up in Oxie's zone, Kalle Arenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Högberg came out of the goal and Kalle Arenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Folke Högberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Smed in the 10th minute of play. Folke Högberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristoffer Nordström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Folke Högberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Smed, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Sebastian Smed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Högberg having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Fagrell in the 29th minute of play forced Värnamo FF's goalkeeper Torsten Almqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, one of Oxie:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Oxie. Orvar Tinglöf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Torsten Almqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Söderström in the 38th minute. Torsten Almqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orvar Tinglöf, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Kalle Arenberg walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jack Olofsson was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, John Söderström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oxie's supporters rose to their feet, but John Söderström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torsten Almqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orvar Tinglöf in the 59th minute of play forced Värnamo FF's goalkeeper Torsten Almqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Orvar Tinglöf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Söderström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Almqvist having to interfere. Torsten Almqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orvar Tinglöf's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. After some careless play in the Värnamo FF defense, Orvar Tinglöf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torsten Almqvist. The Värnamo FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torsten Almqvist should have stopped the shot. Orvar Tinglöf hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Oxie's John Söderström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Torsten Almqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Torsten Almqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Söderström in the 80th minute of play. Torsten Almqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orvar Tinglöf, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Söderström in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torsten Almqvist saved Värnamo FF from getting behind. A collision led to Värnamo FF getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hans Björkqvist hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Oxie had won after a very even match.
