With a left leg Roland Örtendal saved Roger IF from getting behind. If Mikael Lund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Örtendal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikael Lund, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Samuel Hök received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Vidar Högberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC STARS's zone, Samuel Hök stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vidar Högberg came out of the goal and Samuel Hök tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddie Säf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Vidar Högberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC STARS's Roy Hellqvist got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Marcus Holm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC STARS's Michael Åberg got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Michael Åberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roland Örtendal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Roland Örtendal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Åberg in the 35th minute. Freddie Säf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger IF's Samuel Hök pulled a muscle in his leg after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Roy Hellqvist's late challenge caught a Roger IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Hellqvist helped the player get up and apologised. Roy Hellqvist hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Freddie Säf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vidar Högberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddie Säf in the 42nd minute of the match. Michael Åberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Örtendal having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Roland Örtendal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikael Lund in the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Mikael Lund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Örtendal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, FC STARS's Mikael Lund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Örtendal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Michael Åberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Örtendal having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Mikael Lund managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC STARS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikael Lund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Örtendal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82ndth minute of the game Mikael Lund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roger IF's Roland Örtendal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Mikael Lund managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC STARS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikael Lund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Örtendal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC STARS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Freddie Säf scored to the left of an out of position Vidar Högberg, making the score, 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
