With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjell Söderqwist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Övertorneå IF getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Robert Lidman hit a great ball. Nils-Emil Petersson, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Kjell Söderqwist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Larsson's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute, Stig Nykvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Peter Bammerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Dunderbacken BK's Kenny Jonsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kjell Söderqwist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Dunderbacken BK's zone, Kaj Vedholm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Bammerman came out of the goal and Kaj Vedholm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kenny Jonsson to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Kenny Jonsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunderbacken BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kenny Jonsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 57 minutes, Robert Lidman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Övertorneå IF and the Dunderbacken BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Övertorneå IF getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Robert Lidman hit a great ball. With his leg Kjell Söderqwist managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Dunderbacken BK's Stig Nykvist fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 60th match minute, Dunderbacken BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Emil Petersson to maneuver through the defense. Peter Bammerman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaj Vedholm in the 69th minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Dunderbacken BK's Nils-Emil Petersson tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Stig Nykvist could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Kjell Söderqwist however easily saved by the left post. Stig Nykvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Kjell Söderqwist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Stig Nykvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stig Nykvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Söderqwist having to interfere. Stig Nykvists short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Kjell Söderqwist to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 90 minutes into the match, Dunderbacken BK's Kenny Jonsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kjell Söderqwist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dunderbacken BK's goalkeeper Peter Bammerman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Pelle Bergvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dunderbacken BK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Övertorneå IF.
