After a rather tough play, Skillingaryd's Olof Svartengren got a free kick in the 13th minute. Övertorneå IF's Pelle Bergvall shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Conny Lundgren but with some difficulty. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Övertorneå IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Skillingaryd:s goal. Christoffer Deckberg shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Kjell Söderqwist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulf Strömberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Georg Fredriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilbert Fridlund charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilbert Fridlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Skillingaryd getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Conny Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaj Vedholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Georg Fredriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Övertorneå IF getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Zebastian Olsson hit a great ball. Conny Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaj Vedholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 51st minute, Georg Fredriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Conny Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georg Fredriksson in the 54th minute of the match. If Kaj Vedholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes Övertorneå IF got a freekick which was hit by Zebastian Olsson. With his leg Kjell Söderqwist managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Skillingaryd's Ulf Strömberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Olof Svartengren charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olof Svartengren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th minute, Christoffer Deckberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaj Vedholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Lundgren having to interfere. Georg Fredriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Conny Lundgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Skillingaryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Fridlund to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 91 minutes, Georg Fredriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Övertorneå IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Georg Fredriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 92 minutes of play Skillingaryd's Olof Svartengren was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Övertorneå IF booed when Skillingaryd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Svartengren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Skillingaryd's goalkeeper Conny Lundgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Övertorneå IF were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Skillingaryd to leave the ground with a draw.
