With his leg Niclas Torstensson managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Norrtälje FC's Håkan Carlsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Chili Cheese's zone, Eric Aronsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niclas Torstensson came out of the goal and Eric Aronsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the game, Chili Cheese's Tommy Bäckman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edward Thidén made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Aronsson in the 20th minute of play forced Chili Cheese's goalkeeper Niclas Torstensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Norrtälje FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Bäckman came free, but Edward Thidén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bengt-Åke Höijer charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bengt-Åke Höijer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bengt-Åke Höijer kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Olof Soned in the 30th minute of play forced Norrtälje FC's goalkeeper Edward Thidén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes Norrtälje FC got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Åke Höijer. The supporters of Chili Cheese booed when Norrtälje FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Skark didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Bäckman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edward Thidén having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Per-Olof Soned made a kick off. After 59 played minutes, Chili Cheese's Lars Håkansson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edward Thidén came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chili Cheese reached it. During the 61st minute of the match Bengt-Åke Höijer completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bengt-Åke Höijer a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bengt-Åke Höijer hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Tommy Bäckman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Chili Cheese's Per-Olof Soned in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Norrtälje FC's goalie prevented a goal. Niclas Torstensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Carlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chili Cheese had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
