Holger Wiberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Sven Hedberg got a free kick in the 10th minute. Egil Walroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Edmund Zander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Ljungberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Holger Wiberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Zander having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Ljungberg in the 27th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Edmund Zander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Christopher Bergstedt came free, but Edmund Zander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christopher Bergstedt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmund Zander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After 32 minutes, Sven Hedberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United and the Zubat FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Hedberg to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Zubat FC's Karl-Ove Zander to fire away a dangerous shot which Edmund Zander despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 44th minute Marcus Ljungberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Zander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcus Ljungberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Holger Wiberg to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United's goalkeeper Edmund Zander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edmund Zander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Wiberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Ljungberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Zander having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goalkeeper Edmund Zander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Ljungberg. Christopher Bergstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Edmund Zander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Ljungberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Edmund Zander when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Holger Wiberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmund Zander came out of the goal and Holger Wiberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Holger Wiberg came free, but Edmund Zander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Zubat FC's Marcus Ljungberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmund Zander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Marcus Ljungberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Edmund Zander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88thth minute of the game Holger Wiberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester United's Edmund Zander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Holger Wiberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmund Zander. Holger Wiberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Holger Wiberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmund Zander having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Zubat FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Manchester United.
