If Egon Andreasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan-Åke Vestberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sonny Biörkquist in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Högland IFK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Högland IFK's William Gummeson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Borre in the 52nd minute of play. William Gummeson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claes Damm, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Jim Lennartsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egon Andreasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Vestberg having to interfere. William Gummeson came out of the goal and Sören Sundén tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Claes Damm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jim Lennartsson hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Dick Borre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Högland IFK getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Anders Edström hit a great ball. Sandhem were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
