The supporters of Högsby FK booed when Mongo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Åke Offendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Tim Hybbert put in a rough tackle. In the 8th minute, one of Mongo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mongo FC. Åke Brask had in the 11thth minute some difficulties stopping Jerry Stigsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mongo FC's zone, Jan-Olof Låsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Åke Brask came out of the goal and Jan-Olof Låsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Tom Nord could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Åke Brask however easily saved by the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Mongo FC's goalkeeper Åke Brask had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Nord. Mongo FC's Nils-Åke Offendahl got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Jan Wikander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mongo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Wikander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Strömqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Mongo FC's Åke Brask got control of the ball when Tom Nord tried to sneak it across the goal line. Åke Brask didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tom Nord went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Åke Brask showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Skager, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jan Wikander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Freddie Strömqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Åke Brask took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Olof Låsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan-Olof Låsberg made a kick off. Freddie Strömqvist was a little too slow when Jan Wikander got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-2. Mongo FC's Nils-Åke Offendahl managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Matthias Forsman in the 57 minute of the game. 61 minutes into the match, Mongo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Olof Låsberg came free, but Åke Brask reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Wikander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Freddie Strömqvist having to make a save. Jan Wikander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nils-Åke Offendahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
