But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Fridlund couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Rönnby Fotboll Club's zone, Tony Bergman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calle Helberg came out of the goal and Tony Bergman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Rönnby Fotboll Club fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Rönnby Fotboll Club's Folke Säfström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Folke Säfström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pelle Olsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Folke Säfström's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Evolution's goalkeeper Pelle Olsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Evolution booed when Rönnby Fotboll Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Blomqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Folke Säfström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelle Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Michael Ros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 minutes, Hjalmar Bergström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rönnby Fotboll Club and the Evolution players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Rönnby Fotboll Club got a freekick which was hit by Hjalmar Bergström. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Bergman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leif Blomqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leif Blomqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 50th minute, Leif Blomqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Tony Bergman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evolution's Pelle Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Ros in the 64th minute of play. Björn Brandin hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rönnby Fotboll Club's Michael Ros got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Björn Brandin's late challenge caught a Rönnby Fotboll Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Björn Brandin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Evolution's Björn Brandin got a free kick in the 75th minute. Michael Ros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Pelle Olsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leif Blomqvist in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pelle Olsson saved Evolution from getting behind. In the 86th minute, one of Rönnby Fotboll Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rönnby Fotboll Club. After having played for 93 minutes, Folke Säfström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rönnby Fotboll Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folke Säfström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pelle Olsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Ros in the 94th minute of the match. Evolution's Pelle Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Ros in the 96th minute of play. Rönnby Fotboll Club were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
