The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Lidman got free with Robin Göransson in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Magne Rang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robin Göransson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Tobias Asserlindh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Robin Göransson. Gärds köpinge RK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Magne Rang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Robin Göransson. Magne Rang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Magne Rang came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Hammarby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magne Rang couldn't finish the play. If Sebastian Lidman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfons Åström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 played minutes Gärds köpinge RK got a freekick which was hit by Marc Stålman. After a defensive mix-up in Gärds köpinge RK's zone, Sebastian Lidman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carl Ödman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc Stålman in the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th match minute, Hammarby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Lidman to maneuver through the defense. Magne Rang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hammarby's Sebastian Lidman suffered a concussion after 64 minutes and had to leave the field. 64 minutes into the game, Edwin Walmarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gärds köpinge RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby the free kick. The supporters of Hammarby booed when Gärds köpinge RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwin Walmarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingvar Ström's late challenge caught a Hammarby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ingvar Ström helped the player get up and apologised. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Magne Rang sped through Gärds köpinge RK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robin Göransson.
