Malte Clementsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leif Wennerquist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Malte Clementsson ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Inter FK booed when Club de fútbol Ceylon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Britz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Nordal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leif Wennerquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malte Clementsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roy Norberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vilhelm Ahlström in the 15th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vilhelm Ahlström got free with Roy Norberg in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Åke Ersman during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Malte Clementsson struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. In the 32nd minute, Patrik Lundin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter FK's goalkeeper Roy Norberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute Malte Clementsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Wennerquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Tomas Haström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Malte Clementsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leif Wennerquist. Ivan Nordal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Leif Wennerquist managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Inter FK's Ivan Nordal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Club de fútbol Ceylon's zone, Malte Clementsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Wennerquist came out of the goal and Malte Clementsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leif Wennerquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malte Clementsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 81 minutes into the game, Patrick Mellbad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club de fútbol Ceylon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter FK the free kick. A collision led to Club de fútbol Ceylon getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Patrick Mellbad hit a great ball. In the 84th match minute, Club de fútbol Ceylon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Benett to maneuver through the defense.
