The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Backman got free with Andréas Fanström in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sture Backman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bengt-Arne Blom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Åke Hermansson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Sture Backman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andréas Fanström having to interfere. Sture Backman scored 1-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andréas Fanström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Per Kilberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
