With a little luck, Sandhult's Per-Olof Gregersson got control of the ball when Leif Gerdberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sandhult's Ulf Lilja got a free kick in the 10th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Sandhult's goalkeeper Per-Olof Gregersson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Gerdberg. 23 minutes into the match, Sandhult's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Jansson came free, but Per-Olof Gregersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ekerö IF's Stig-Ove Sjögren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Möller in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sandhult's zone, Bengt Håning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Olof Gregersson came out of the goal and Bengt Håning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Per-Olof Gregersson made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Leif Gerdberg sent off a good shot on target. Måns Jansson kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leif Gerdberg got free with Per-Olof Gregersson in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 42 in the game by Leif Gerdberg from a close distance when the talented Per-Olof Gregersson managed to make a qualified save. Sandhult's players were relieved. Leif Gerdberg struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Per-Olof Gregersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ekerö IF. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Stig-Ove Sjögren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Hammarström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torsten Rosen's late challenge caught a Sandhult's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torsten Rosen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sandhult booed when Ekerö IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Rosen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stig-Ove Sjögren made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Verner Hasselqvist sent off a good shot on target. In the 73rdth minute of the game Leif Gerdberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sandhult's Per-Olof Gregersson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dag Bolin during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leif Gerdberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per-Olof Gregersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leif Gerdberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Ekerö IF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
