August Mattsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vincent Eliasson struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Kaj Bivall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limhamns IF. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Albom in the 21st minute of play forced Mjölby FF's goalkeeper Kaj Bivall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Löfskog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. August Mattsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Limhamns IF's August Mattsson got control of the ball when Henning Jansson tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ove Albom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Limhamns IF booed when Mjölby FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egil Åkerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stig-Arne Johnsson fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mjölby FF's protests and gave Stig-Arne Johnsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mjölby FF getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Stig-Arne Johnsson hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the game, Sven Blanck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mjölby FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limhamns IF the free kick. A collision led to Mjölby FF getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Sven Blanck hit a great ball. If Sven Blanck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vincent Eliasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Kaj Bivall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vincent Eliasson was the one to do the kick off. Kaj Bivall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ove Albom in the 56th minute. If Sven Blanck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Limhamns IF's August Mattsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Blanck in the 62nd minute of play. Kaj Bivall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Eliasson in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Sven Blanck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Mattsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Limhamns IF's Melker Lindqvist got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Sven Blanck came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Mjölby FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Blanck couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Limhamns IF got a freekick which was hit by Melker Lindqvist. Limhamns IF's August Mattsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Löfskog in the 72nd minute of play. Kaj Bivall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Eliasson in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Löfskog in the 81st minute of play forced Limhamns IF's goalkeeper August Mattsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th match minute, Limhamns IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Eliasson to maneuver through the defense. Gottfrid Ivarsson charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gottfrid Ivarsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stig-Arne Johnsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for August Mattsson. Limhamns IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mjölby FF's Folke Löfskog got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
