The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calle Hedman in the 3rd minute of play forced Lotorp's goalkeeper Fritz Lund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christopher Martinsson during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kevin Edström might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fritz Lund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kevin Edström ran back to his position shaking his head. Calle Hedman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Lund having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olov Sundström to make the kick off. Fritz Lund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calle Hedman, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Calle Hedman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kevin Edström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
