After a defensive mix-up in Hjärup FF's zone, Jan-Olof Lindmark stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Ekegren came out of the goal and Jan-Olof Lindmark tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the match, Hjärup FF's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Fristedt came free, but Olov Ekegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Olof Lindmark struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Olov Ekegren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saltsjöbaden. A hard shot 27 in the game by Gunnar Fristedt from a close distance when the talented Olov Ekegren managed to make a qualified save. Hjärup FF's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Saltsjöbaden's Niklas Åhlberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olov Ekegren. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In a very dangerous position, a player in Saltsjöbaden fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! Joakim Holm went to the wrong direction when Jan-Olof Högström was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The supporters of Hjärup FF booed when Saltsjöbaden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Åhlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Saltsjöbaden getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Niklas Åhlberg hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Hjärup FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Olof Lindmark came free, but Olov Ekegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Hjärup FF's Urban Galle in the 73rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Joakim Holm was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Saltsjöbaden through an amazing save. After 74 played minutes Saltsjöbaden got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Nyman. In the 76th match minute, Saltsjöbaden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niklas Åhlberg to maneuver through the defense. When Urban Galle came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Hjärup FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urban Galle couldn't finish the play. Olov Ekegren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rickard Danielsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Joakim Holm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 98 played minutes Urban Galle rounded Saltsjöbaden's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Saltsjöbaden had won after a very even match.
