But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Arne Ekström couldn't finish the play. The nice shot from Marko Hedman in the 9thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Christer Nordin had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The audience was convinced that Stig-Åke Höijer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christer Nordin was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. The referee ignored Nora IF's protests and gave Reine Dalman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, one of Nora IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nora IF. 37 minutes into the match, Öxabäck's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Höijer came free, but Christer Nordin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marko Hedman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christer Nordin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when David Mikaelsson made the kick off in the second half. Marko Hedman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Nordin having to interfere. Marko Hedman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59thth minute of the game Stig-Åke Höijer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Öxabäck's Christer Nordin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stig-Arne Ekström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
