The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marko Hedman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Bernt Vennerstens short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Yngve Gummeson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Stig-Åke Höijer fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nora IF's protests and gave Stig-Åke Höijer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Nora IF's Stig-Åke Höijer got a free kick in the 14th minute. Niklas Österberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Olle Hasselqvist. Hönö BK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Nora IF fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Nora IF's Stig-Åke Höijer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Stig-Åke Höijer made the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Erling Högström in the 93rd minute really tested Olle Hasselqvist's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 95 minutes into the game, Stig-Åke Höijer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olle Hasselqvist. Stig-Åke Höijer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
