The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Skillingsfors RK's Peter Brogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Adelsköld in the 8th minute of play. David Nyman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Dahlqvist having to interfere. In the 12th minute David Nyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fritz Dahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olle Hellsing could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Peter Brogren made a huge save. Allan Adelsköld might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Brogren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Adelsköld ran back to his position shaking his head. If Kenny Sundin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kenny Sundin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Dahlqvist having to interfere. Kenny Sundin struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Fritz Dahlqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skillingsfors RK. In the 34th play minute Olle Hellsing came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Peter Brogren. 1-0. Skillingsfors RK's Peter Brogren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Skillingsfors RK from getting a goal against them. Allan Adelsköld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Allan Adelsköld kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Peter Brogren. That made the score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. Skillingsfors RK's Peter Brogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Adelsköld in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Allan Adelsköld made a kick off. Fritz Dahlqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Nyman, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Allan Adelsköld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Skillingsfors RK's zone, Allan Adelsköld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Brogren came out of the goal and Allan Adelsköld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, David Nyman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fritz Dahlqvist, passed just outside the right post. 69 minutes into the match, Skillingsfors RK's goal looked a bit too open when Olle Hellsing came free, but Peter Brogren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Adelsköld in the 72nd minute of play forced Skillingsfors RK's goalkeeper Peter Brogren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Allan Adelsköld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Brogren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Brogren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Adelsköld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Hammarbäck was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Olle Hellsing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Brogren was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Kenny Sundin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 93rd playminute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
