In the 3rd minute Gunnar Ingvall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henric Magnusson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Löfgren scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henric Magnusson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thomas Sjö received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Henric Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henric Magnusson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gunnar Ingvall's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Hedemora's Gunnar Ingvall got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Överum's Henric Magnusson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Löfgren in the 25th minute of play. Henric Magnusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Löfgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Hedemora's Gunnar Ingvall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henric Magnusson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Kurt Löfgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henric Magnusson was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Henric Magnusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Ingvall, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gunnar Ingvall stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 67th minute, Hedemora's Gunnar Ingvall dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. If Kurt Löfgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Överum's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Ingvall came free, but Henric Magnusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Överum got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Lundgren. Kurt Löfgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henric Magnusson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Torsten Kristiansson scored 1-5 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfons Forsman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Kurt Löfgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hedemora's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
