The supporters of Edsele IK booed when Rio Trix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Bergström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglas Sjöman got free with Henrik Borre in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, Evert Bruse made a precise shot to the right of Henrik Borre. Rio Trix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Arvidsson in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henrik Borre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 51 minutes, Martin Arvidsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Edsele IK and the Rio Trix players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rio Trix's goalkeeper Henrik Borre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henrik Borre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Sjöman's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Martin Arvidsson put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henrik Borre. After a rather tough play, Rio Trix's Pär Wenerdahl got a free kick in the 83rd minute. If Martin Arvidsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrik Borre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Arvidsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Douglas Sjöman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rickard Västberg's late challenge caught a Edsele IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Edsele IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rio Trix had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
